Courtney Edwards
Courtney Edwards is a teacher at his alma mater, Cedar High School. His commitment to education has a profound impact on the children he teaches. His upbringing in Mitchells Plain and his involvement in the struggle have shaped his life. Mr Edwards’ is often called upon to share his views on the youth, and he strives to motivate them to uplift themselves through education. At age 17, while in matric, he decided on a teaching career, and he a B.Ed. at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He is undertaking studies, and entered the UCT B. Ed Honours program to gain a better grasp on education and its management. He is a mentor to a number of struggling students and he wants to see no drop-outs under his watch. He holds the Alumni Committee chair of the Motsepe Foundation and is the author of the Memorandum of Concern issued to the WECD, Equal Education Movement, Western Cape and Youth for Change 2018.
