Shameemah Bull
I am Shameemah Bull, a 21-year old student, from Mitchell’s Plain. I attended Princeton Secondary School, and this is where the foundation towards achieving great things were formed. It helped me to pursue a Bachelor of Social Science degree, majoring in Psychology, Organisational Psychology and Environmental and Geographical Science at the University of Cape Town. University often requires hard work, pressure and dedication, most of which would have been lost had it not been for the Mitchell’s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust (MPBRMT). Ultimately, the role of any bursary is to provide students with financial assistance; instead the MPBRMT moves beyond the norms of a bursary, and provide a support system that connects with students on a personal level too. Accepting this aid helped me to understand my true potential to excel both academically and to give back to those that have played a vital role in my success. Ultimately, I strive to be a role model the MPBRMT believe I can be.
