Support us

You can support the Mitchell’s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust by making a financial contribution and getting involved in being a role model to the young people of Mitchell’s Plain.

Donations

All of the funds of the Mitchell’s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust come from committed individuals, corporations and companies of all sizes, and private institutions. Quite simply, without you we cannot assist any deserving learners to gain a better education and build a better life. You can get involved and donate as a corporate and as an individual.

Role Models

The thousands of people who live and have lived in Mitchell’s Plain and now find their careers and life paths extending to a range of sectors, communities and experiences, provide a rich resource to mentor, guide and support our youth.  You can help in many ways including:

  • speaking at a school about your career and experiences
  • providing information about your career, sector and place of work
  • being a mentor to one of the bursary recipients
  • arranging work experience exposure for learners
  • giving a motivational speech to tell your life story

We will assist by putting you in contact with the bursary recipients and schools in the area so that you can help build and nurture our youth and help prepare them for their future roles in society.

The bursary recipients are also role models to their peers.

  • They are required to do a talk at their school at least once a year during their years of study.
  • They are also required to get involved in a community project such as at Ikamva Youth to help tutor and support the learners that follow in their footsteps.
  • They all are involved in forming an alumni for their schools to enable others to plough back to their schools.
